Decrypting Crypto with Brit & Co.
Last night, hundreds of women gathered together to learn about blockchain and cryptocurrencies (and many many more via livestream!). Brit, founder of Brit & Co, organized a panel of speakers to educate and encourage women to get involved in rebuilding the financial market of the future (unfortunately our current financial system is completely male dominated). Women comprise only 4% of total investors in digital currencies and are therefore not reaping the investment opportunities and potential wealth accumulations as men. This needs to change.
Considering that blockchain will be prevent in our daily lives within the next 5 to 10 years (I actually think it will be much faster than 10), it’s important for everyone to pay attention to, learn about and get involved in the massive technological shift that’s going on. Living in San Francisco, it’s easy to learn about this stuff but I imagine it’s much more difficult living elsewhere. Even though there’s a plethora of information on the web, it’s hard to know what’s true and what’s not, and then layer on top of that the scary stories told by media and banks.
Cutting through the noise is hard. Here’s a list of foundational resources suggested by the panelist, and a few of my own, so that you can begin to understand the underlying technologies, make smart investment and be part of creating the next wave of finance. As Arianna Simpson, one of the panelist said, don’t wait for permission to get started.
You can also join us every other Tuesday with great talks at Crypto Underground in San Francisco! Just join the FB group to get notified about our next speaker. All talks are recorded if you can’t make it!
